Copper & Kings honors Black History Month and famous local bartender Tom Bullock

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY/MEDIA ADVISORY

WHAT:            Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. celebrates the achievements of African-Americans through Kentucky history by illuminating the legacy of Louisville native Tom Bullock. At an event Wednesday night, historian Michael Jones will present his findings on Bullock, an esteemed bartender who published his seminal book of cocktail recipes “The Ideal Bartender” 100 years ago. The seminar will be accompanied by classic Tom Bullock libations, vocal entertainment by Donna Mason and delicious small bites prepared by local chef Lawrence Weeks. The event is free to the public. RSVPs are encouraged at: copperandkings.com/bullock-rsvp.

The night will end with the official launch of The Ideal Bartender School. Named after Bullock’s book, the initiative will offer select individuals with disadvantaged economic means a free 14-week bartending course developed and curated by Copper & Kings. The rigorous course, limited to 20 people in need of economic mobility, will teach the disciplines of the hospitality profession.
