Blanton’s Review

Blanton's Our Rating: 96%
Blanton’s

Name: Blanton’s

Bottled By: Sazerac

ABV: 46.5%

Proof: 93

Age: No age statement

Notes: Blanton’s will greet you with a nice warm scent of brown sugar and figs. This bourbon is very smooth and mild and has a very strong taste of vanilla, caramel, and oak. The finish is smooth and lengthy with a subtle butterscotch taste. Blanton’s has a somewhat higher price tag, roughly $50 dollars, but it is well worth it in our opinion.  Save this one for special occasions and without hesitation always enjoy this one neat. We highly recommend picking up a bottle of Blanton’s if you haven’t tried it already.

History: Blanton’s was named after one of the distillery’s early leaders, Albert B. Blanton, who the company claims spent most of his life preserving the tradition of handcrafted bourbon. Blanton worked at the distillery for around 55 years. He was born on a farm just outside of Frankfurt, Kentucky and began working at the distillery when he was 16 years old. Over the next few years he worked in every department, and in 1912 he was appointed superintendent of the distillery, its warehouse, and bottling shop. He became the president of the distillery in 1921 and died in 1959.
