Notes: On the nose FEW bourbon is very spicy with some notes of cinnamon, black pepper, and balsam. On the palate corn and rye dominate, with some subtle oak, cinnamon, mint, and pepper flavors as well. The finish is rather long and spicy with some strong pepper and mint flavors. I enjoyed this bourbon and the mint and balsam flavors helped make this a standout whiskey. This is definitely a different bourbon but in a good way. The folks at FEW made a whiskey with some very unique characteristics. I tried this whiskey neat and with a splash. I enjoyed it both ways. Adding a splash seems to mellow out the spicy flavors quite a bit. Overall, this is a unique whiskey that most bourbon lovers who like a whiskey with some heat will enjoy.
