Name: Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon
Nose: Caramel, Vanilla, Black Pepper
Palate: Vanilla, Pepper, Citrus, Creamy Texture
Finish: Long, fulfilling, sweet and smoky, with flavors of cherries, corn, citrus notes, and tobacco
Overall: Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon is a solid whiskey in my opinion. It has an excellent flavor profile and a long fulfilling finish that leaves the drinker satisfied. On the nose Featherbone has that classic vanilla and caramel aroma that most bourbons have; however, the aroma here was genuine. The palate was filled with rich vanilla, black pepper, and citrus and each flavor was distinctive and easy for one to detect and had a rich creamy texture. The finish is where this bourbon shines. It is long, fulfilling, with a sweet and smoky flavor. This is the kind of finish I wish they all had. The flavors were again genuine and had rich and tart flavors of cherries, corn, citrus, and tobacco. The cherries and tobacco were the two prominent flavors here. Overall, Featherbon Bourbon is a top choice in my opinion. The price point of $50 a bottle is spot on with this whiskey. This is one bourbon that will likely be a fixture on my shelf. The specific bottle I used for this review was bottle 880 from batch 33. This whiskey is best sipped neat in my opinion or with a simple splash to bring out the flavors a bit more.
