Name: Koval Single Barrel Rye Whiskey

Notes: On the nose Koval Single Barrel Rye is very floral with some subtle fruit notes of apples and pears. On the palate there are some fruit flavors, most noticeably apples, with some cinnamon, pear, anise, and tobacco flavors mixing in. The finish is where the rye and spice flavors come in, cinnamon, nutmeg, and black pepper are what I detected the most and there is a pleasant spicy aftertaste. This is a very sweet whiskey, almost tasting like a very young bourbon. Immediately after my first tasting, I was ready to pour another glass. What I enjoyed the most about Koval Rye was the fresh floral notes and fruit flavors which made this whiskey unique in my opinion. I tried Koval Rye neat, with a splash, and in a cocktail. I enjoyed this whiskey best neat. Adding a splash seemed to take a bit away from an already light whiskey. Overall, this is a great whiskey that I would recommend to anyone who wants to try something new.
