Finish: Moderate with orange, peach, and wood flavors

Overall: This review is specifically for Barrell Bourbon batch number 004 bottle number 1535 pictured above and below. On the nose there is a light corn flavor with molasses, black pepper, and cedar. At first sip you immediately notice the thick mouthfeel and sweet corn flavor. There is a robust tobacco flavor with thick molasses up front with flavors of fresh oranges, cedar, and butter mixing in as well. The finish is moderate with a light fruit flavor, mainly oranges, but some peach as well, and a wood flavor that slowly fades. Overall, this is another delicious whiskey with a unique taste. Like the previous review we did, the higher proof doesn’t overpower the rich flavors which is one of the main reasons I enjoyed these whiskies. The thick mouthfeel with this whiskey makes it taste genuine as does the pure standout flavors, such as the molasses, cedar, and tobacco. The butter flavor is similar to the butter flavor in the Barrell Whiskey I tasted but not as strong. The whiskey lingered for what seemed like just the right amount of time and slowly faded. I tried this whiskey neat and I really enjoyed it. There wasn’t a lot of spice with this whiskey even though it has a higher proof. Barrel Bourbon is aged for 6 years and 4 months and is priced at around $90.
