Name: Yellowstone Limited Edition Bourbon
ABV: 52.5%
Proof: 105
Nose: Vanilla, Chocolate, Fig, Cinnamon, Oak
Palate: Dry Oak, Vanilla, Caramel, Tobacco
Finish: Long, spicy, and dry with maple and cinnamon and just the right amount of burn.
Overall: Yellowstone Bourbon is a great bourbon choice for those who enjoy a dry bourbon. On the nose there is a nice vanilla, chocolate, and fig aroma up front and some hints of cinnamon and oak and a strong alcohol aroma. At first sip I was greeted with a dry oak and vanilla flavor with some caramel and tobacco flavors that quickly moved in. This is definitely a dry whiskey. The flavors are genuine and complex. The finish is long, spicy, and dry with maple and cinnamon being the most upfront flavors. There is just the right amount of burn with this whiskey.
Overall, this is one that I really enjoyed. I enjoy a dry whiskey with some burn and this whiskey was spot on in my opinion. This whiskey is best enjoyed neat or with a splash. Adding a splash brings out the flavors a bit while still keeping the burn. Although this is a delicious bourbon, the price is $105 which is a bit high for what you get. I think the price for this whiskey should between $60-$75.
This is a great whiskey to share with those who enjoy a stronger, dry whiskey. If the price or dry profile concerns you then it may be best to hold off until you can try a sample.
Cigar Recommendation: The Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Pyramid cigar has a nice hint of pepper with a nice mellow creamy taste.
