Michter’s Modern Day Speakeasy Experience
Thursday, June 8th, 7-11pm
Frazier History Museum, Speakeasy Exhibit, 829 W Main St, Louisville, KY
Price: $175
Enjoy the fun and elegance of a modern speakeasy experience with the Michter’s team including delicious food and specialty paired cocktails all within the beautiful Prohibition exhibit of the Frazier Museum. The Frazier Museum’s Prohibition and Kentucky exhibit right in the heart of Louisville brings the 1920’s to life & shows how millions of otherwise law-abiding Americans chose to violate the national alcohol ban to quench the country’s thirst for illegal booze. In 1920, you needed a doctor’s prescription as will you to get your lips on a delicious cocktail that night. The Doctor will be in so don’t worry about that! The evening begins with a welcome cocktail and a tour of the Prohibition exhibit. Artisans will share their libations throughout the five course meal prepared by Executive Chef Patrick Roney of Harvest Restaurant. As dinner progresses, Mike Veach, Bourbon Historian, Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame Inductee, 2006 and author of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey: An American Heritage, will share the events leading up to prohibition, legally selling alcohol through prohibition, the reasons for repeal and the aftermath of repeal of prohibition with the 21st Amendment to the Constitution. Dress with the style of the era or come as you are and enjoy a fun and engaging evening of food and drink with the Michter’s team. Guests will receive a Michter’s flask and commemorative photo as well as a Tower Speakeasy book from the Frazier Museum and a bottle of Ale-8. (All guests will be required to advise of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.)
