Enjoy award-winning food and vote for an award-winning cocktail at The Bourbon Women Association’s Bourbon Brunch on Sunday, June 11th from 10 am to 1pm.
Kathy Cary of Lilly’s Bistro will offer sumptuous upscale Southern fare produced by local farmers. As the original “farm to table” chef in Louisville, Cary innovates with Kentucky’s finest ingredients, and her continued excellence have earned her seven James Beard Foundation nominations including Best Chef in the Southeast.
The region’s best bartenders will compete to create memorable morning cocktails in the BW Bourbon Bloody Mary contest. Renowned Bourbon cocktail creator, author, and member of the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame, Joy Perrine of Equus & Jack’s Lounge, will head the judging panel, which will include a “People’s Choice” vote from each attendee. The winning cocktail mixologists will receive the coveted BW Mixologist Award, presented by the KDA and Bourbon Women Association.
The Bourbon Brunch is sponsored by the Bourbon Women Association, the nation’s premier organization for women who are passionate about exploring Bourbon and the culture that surrounds it.
The Bourbon Brunch will be held at Locust Grove, a National Historic Landmark, which celebrates the birth of what would become Kentucky’s legendary Bourbon whiskey industry. The beautiful 55-acre estate also includes a circa 1792 house, outbuildings and grounds. Locust Grove also includes a fully functional, full scale recreation of a small farm distillery from early 19th Century Kentucky. The immersive, living historical action will take place under the covered porch area where the still and boiling tub have been installed. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes!
