It’s almost Father’s Day and this is the time to honor the man in your life who gave you so much. Staying to true to our beliefs in keeping things simple this year we have one simple pick for Father’s Day and we choose Wild Turkey Rare Breed. The folks at Wild Turkey have been making excellent bourbon for years and years so we don’t have to tell you about them. Rare Breed is another great whiskey they offer. This excellent barrel proof whiskey is strong and full of excellent warm, spicy flavors such as tobacco, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. This is a great whiskey to share with those closest to you. There are many flavors and it’s interesting to see whose palate pick up what flavors. You can see our full review below. I won’t have the pleasure of having a sip with my Dad on Father’s Day, but I will be bringing a bottle with me when I meet him in the mountains in a few weeks. Notes: On the nose Wild Turkey Rare Breed has a nice scent of walnuts, nutmeg, and vanilla, a very warm and inviting scent full of spice. On the palate Rare Breed is spicy but smooth, with great flavors of tobacco, vanilla, wood, and cloves. Rare Breed also had some mint flavors which were a nice surprise. Rare Breed has a nice long and sweet finish, a little spice, and very dry. Rare Breed has nice rich smooth flavors throughout with the right amount of spice.  I tried this neat and on the rocks and it was delicious both ways. This is a great whiskey to share with those closest to you. There are many flavors and it’s interesting to see whose palate pick up what flavors.I really enjoyed the spice and flavor profile of Rare Breed and recommend it to those who haven’t tried it yet.
