September is National Bourbon Heritage Month. What does this mean? On August 2nd, 2007, the US Senate declared September 2007 as “National Bourbon Heritage Month.” The bill, which was originally sponsored by Jim Bunning, reinforces the 1964 Act of Congress that declared bourbon “America’s Native Spirit” by celebrating the family heritage, tradition and deep-rooted legacy that the bourbon industry contributes to the United States. This is our holiday to celebrate America’s Native Spirit and we get to enjoy it for an entire month. Bourbon fans everywhere can take the month to enjoy their favorite spirit and at Bourbon and Oak we hope you do just that. Propose a toast with some close friends, host a bourbon tasting party, or just take the time to really appreciate what’s in your glass. We hope you enjoy this fine spirit and true symbol of American craftsmanship as much as we do. Cheers everyone!
