Tullamore D.E.W. – the original triple blend Irish whiskey and second largest Irish whiskey in the world – announces the launch of its new single malt range, comprised of Tullamore D.E.W. 14 Year Old Single Malt and Tullamore D.E.W. 18 Year Old Single Malt.

Intensely rich and smooth Irish whiskeys, both Tullamore D.E.W. single malts are characterized by their rare, four cask recipe, which sees the whiskey finished in Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry, Port and Madeira casks. Thanks to triple distillation, which is mainly unique to Irish whiskey, the malts are particularly smooth with a character quite distinct from other single malt whiskeys.

Both malts boast a rich, balanced and vibrant flavor enjoyable to both single malt enthusiasts and fans of Tullamore D.E.W.’s core range alike. The long-lasting sweet finish and notes of ripe apples, sweet citrus and hints of tropical fruit, all enveloped in vanilla oak, set these two new single malts apart as unique Irish whiskeys.

John Quinn, Tullamore D.E.W.’s longtime Global Brand Ambassador, commented: “We have a treasure chest of outstanding aged single malt at Tullamore D.E.W. While much of this gets used for our core triple-blended range, the opportunity to release a limited amount for the enjoyment of single malt enthusiasts was too exciting to pass up. The four cask finish adds a rich depth of flavor and perfect balance, while allowing the spirit’s true character to shine through.”

Tullamore D.E.W. 14 Year Old Single Malt (MSRP: $69.99 / 750ml) and Tullamore D.E.W. 18 Year Old Single Malt (MSRP: $109.99 / 750ml) will be introduced as limited releases in the U.S., beginning in September 2016. “There is a growing appetite for single malts in the U.S. market, and we’re looking forward to showing consumers how much Ireland and Tullamore D.E.W. has to offer in this category,” says Paige Parness, U.S. Senior Brand Manager for Tullamore D.E.W.

The two new single malt releases join other recent innovations to the Tullamore D.E.W. range, including Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy and Tullamore D.E.W. Cider Cask Finish. The new single malts are the next step forward in expanding the full Tullamore D.E.W. range to provide a premium whiskey of true character for every whiskey drinker. About Tullamore D.E.W.

Tullamore D.E.W. is the second largest Irish whiskey in the world in the fastest growing category. It has been widely acclaimed by whiskey connoisseurs, most recently winning a Gold Medal at the 2014 International Spirits Challenge for Tullamore D.E.W. Original. Additionally Tullamore D.E.W. 10 Year Single Malt won the Chairman’s Trophy (highest award) for best Single Malt Irish Whiskey at the 2013 Ultimate Spirits Competition and Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Year Old Special Reserve won the Double Gold Medal at the 2013 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

With an intriguing smooth yet complex character, Tullamore D.E.W. is triple distilled, but is also a unique blend of all three types of Irish whiskeys; the pot still, malt and grain whiskeys. As a result, Tullamore D.E.W. is three times smoother with an added gentle complexity. Tullamore D.E.W. was the first and remains one of the few international Irish whiskeys to pioneer this blend of three.

Created in 1829, the brand’s strong heritage started in Tullamore, a town in the heart of Ireland, and was fostered by the vision of an early founder Daniel E. Williams, whose initials live on the bottle to this day. In 2014, Tullamore D.E.W. was brought back to its roots with the opening of a new distillery in the town of Tullamore, which returned whiskey production to the town 60 years after the original distillery closed its doors.

Tullamore D.E.W. is best enjoyed to taste, but we recommend neat, on the rocks or served long with ginger beer, fresh lime juice and a dash of bitters in a Tullamore Irish Mule.
