Overall: This review is specifically for Barrell Bourbon batch number 009 bottle number 3112 pictured above. On the nose there is an upfront aroma of brown sugar with some hints of figs and cherries. At first sip I was greeted with a warm but rich caramel flavor most likely due to the heat of the 112 proof, vanilla flavors played well with the caramel before opening up for a tart cherry flavor which I really enjoyed. The finish was dry and spicy with rich vanilla and creamy butter toffee flavor that slowly faded. I tried this with a splash and neat and I enjoyed it both ways. Adding a splash of water seemed to brighten up the flavors a bit. Barrell Bourbon Batch 009 is distilled and aged in Tennessee and Kentucky. It is aged for 13 years in Char #4 American white oak barrels and has a mash bill of 75% corn, 18% rye, 7% malted barley.
