Sazerac Recipe

2 oz. rye whiskey

3 dashes Angostura bitters

1 sugar cube

1 splash of absinthe

lemon peel, for garnish

Start with a chilled old-fashioned glass. In a second glass, muddle bitters with sugar cube and add the rye whiskey. Add a splash of absinthe to the first glass and swirl around a few times to coat the glass, discard remaining absinthe. Add the rye whiskey mixture from the second glass into the first glass and garnish with lemon peel.
