Summer is the time for enjoying fresh produce and cold drinks. The Fig and Bourbon Fizz Cocktail combines the wonderful taste of fresh figs with a rich flavors of bourbon and is perfect for a hot sunny afternoon.
1 fresh whole, ripe fig
6 fresh mint leaves
2 to 3 sugar cubes or equivalent in simple syrup
1/4 cup bourbon
Ice cubes
1/2 cup ginger ale, chilled
Muddle fig, mint leaves, and sugar cubes or simple syrup in a large cocktail shaker and add your bourbon. Shake for 30 – 60 seconds. Strain into a high ball glass filled with ice. Top with chilled ginger ale. Stir gently, garnish with mint sprig, and enjoy.
